Nanocrystalline and amorphous materials are the latest arrivals in the family of so-called soft materials.
They have excellent saturation, loss and magnetostriction properties. Our partner, Proterial, an industry leader, produces nanocrystalline materials under the name of FINEMET® and amorphous materials under the METGLAS® brand.
Top quality distinguishes Proterial cores from those of its competitors. The raw materials, amorphous and nanocrystalline ribbons are produced in-house and have electrical and physical properties that are unique on the market.
For example, Proterial is the only company that is able to offer thicknesses on the nanocrystalline ribbon of just 13m, a feature that has never been matched. The nanocrystalline and amorphous ribbons are manufactured in Japan, where Proterial has three factories, and in the United States. The cores are manufactured regularly in Thailand, India and China.
Nanocrystallines and amorphous materials can be supplied both in the form of ribbons and cores. Itaca SpA distributes Proterial amorphous and nanocrystalline materials exclusively in Italy and in another 15 EMEA countries.
